Aaron had 3 older brothers, John, c. 1832, Ira c. 1939 and Elihin c. 1840. Can someone with access to the NY censuses check for this family in 1840? Does a Brintnell family appear in the 1800 or 1810 NY census as Hiram was also born in NY?
