    3. Hi Lauren - I would be thrilled to look at copies or a transcription of this diary...since I am fairly confident of my family's religion at that time, perhaps if they are mentioned it would help. In addition, it would certainly give an excellent insight into the lives and times of my ancestors. Ya know the names I wrote abt are only a sampling of my family who were in Manlius during the stated time frame. The info you wrote is grt - potentially. I have a copy of a Diary written before and including 1824. But I can not figure out the religious denomination. Almost every daily notation makes reference to the days religious activity or sentiment. I am frustrated not being able to get a sense of the church or denomination or esp. the location (except poss Britton's Settlement). She (Emilie Rowe) continually mentions that they are leaving for' and or where they are going for the days religious activities... She also says her father Asa Rowe started the group (an hoped he wouldn't be forgotten). I will gladly share the diary with anyone who would like to try to determine the religious affiliation and hopefully its location. The diary is loaded with names but most are abbreviated... After all she was writing for her own edification not mine! Thanks for the help - keep it coming pls... Hope the following from the book "The History of Onondaga County" written in 1878 will help you track down any church records that might be available. "sev Congregational, Presbyterian nd Baptist Societies were organized n th twn o Manlius during 1789 to 1803." Christ Church (Episcopalian) was orgnaized in 1804 and the building was erected in 1813. Trinity Presbyterian Church of Manlius was formed in 1815 and the building was erected in 1819. First Methodist Episcopal Church of Manilus was built in 1822. Baptist Churches were among the earliest in the town of Manlius, but no edifice was erected in the village till 1828. In 1813 an organization was formed under the name of the "Pompey and Manlius Baptist Church" Those were in the village of Manilus. There were also churches in the village of Fayettevile , Kirkville and the Eagle Village that are in the Town of Manilus, though these seem to have been later. I did not see any references to the surnames of Rowe and Stillwell.
