    3. I have been searching for the parents of Jane A. Wells Ellis who lived in South Onondaga for quite a while, to no avail. Is there anyone out there with a connection?? Any help would be greatly apprciated!! Thanks, Lucie JANE A.1 WELLS was born September 09, 1812 in ?, and died November 21, 1878 in South Onondaga. Buried in Oakwood Cemetary. She married ALBERT M. ELLIS, son of LEVI ELLIS and SILANCE LAWRENCE. They had a large farm in South Onondaga, NY. Notes for ALBERT M. ELLIS: Albert Organized 1st Sunday School in So. Onon., successful at farming & lived contentedly in South Onon. - Buried in Oakwood Cemetary. Their children were educated at public schools and academies at Onon. Valley & Homer. Attended jerry Rescue Convention in Weiting Hall, Syracuse. Oakwood Cem Children of JANE WELLS and ALBERT ELLIS are: i. JAMES MADISON2 ELLIS, b. July 22, 1837; d. January 29, 1912; m. MARTHA PECK, February 1865. ii. ALEXANDER DWELLE ELLIS, b. July 18, 1834; d. March 24, 1927. Notes for ALEXANDER DWELLE ELLIS: Bought block in E. Syracuse." Published local historical works, maps & atlases. Spring 1874, w/ Chas. Upton of Roch, NY purchased tract of land along RR tracks in town of DeWitt. Laid out into blocks and avenues and indicated a proposed town site. 1875-6 published a map calling it E. Syracuse, thereafter Incorporated into a town.
