Hello! I am new to this list. My name is Karen and I am retracing the steps of my great grandfather, Merrick D. Coons. He emigrated from Canada around 1882 and was naturalized in Onondaga County in 1884. Actually it was on my birthday that year. (of course I wasn't around but....I like the connection <grin>). My question is can I get a copy of his naturalization papers? Would they have any information as to where he came from in Canada? I am sorry to ask so many questions but I am new at this.
