From the local Tully, NY newspaper. Date unknown: Obituary Thursday, Jan 15, 1931 at her home in Otisco occurred the death of Mrs Josie LONG FLANAGAN, aged 42 years. Mrs FLANAGAN was born in Otisco and had resided the most of her life in the towns of Tully and Otisco where by her kindly ways she had endeared herself to a host of friends. She is survived by her husband, Edward FLANAGAN, four daughters; Helen Margaret, Mary Alice, Lucy Agnes, and Dorothy Louise. Two sons, Harold and Hollis; her father, John LONG of Tully; four sisters: Mrs Jay MURPHY, Otisco; Mrs Carl SMITH of Syracuse and Frances and Louise LONG of Tully, Dr William LONG of Baldwinsville, James and Lester of Cortland. Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's Church, Otisco, Monday morning Jan 19 where a Solemn High Mass of Requiem was offered by her cousin, Rev Paul LONG of Utica assisted by the Pastor Rev Luke V. GALLAGHER of Tully and the Rev Father COVENY of Homer. Interment was in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Otisco.
