Hi Does anyone know if St. Joseph's French Church still exists or has been incorporated into another church and changed name? My g-g-grandmother, Mary BUSH(BEAUCHAMP before name change) was buried from the above church on Jan 31 1899. The funeral notice said she was a well known clairvoyant. I found that very interesting. Does anyone have a thought about what the Church position would have been on that in 1899? Julie jbright@capecod.net

I would be interested in learning about and corresponding with those researching the WEISKOTTEN family of Onondaga Valley, NY. A cousin of mine married Eugene Mercer Weiskotten, son of Eugene & Clara (MERCER) WEISKOTTEN, b. 6/18/92 Onon. Valley, md. Ethel Devoe 5/17/16 Ft. Plain NY (?), d.4/23/58 Utica NY. Brothers were Dean Herman G. Weiskotten of Syracuse University and Ernest S. Weiskotten of Syracuse, and sister Mrs. John O'Leary of Elmira (first name unknown) -- all living in 1958. I'd be interested in more info on his family and (if possible) more on Mercer. Thank you. Chris DeVoe Syracuse NY
I'll start off with an easy question, how did "SALINA" get its name? The answer is not in French's Gazetteer, that I could find. Russell Dear
Hi Pam, Disk sent 9/9 , also a late thought i sent a second letter with hard copies of the Geneology Reports. Hope this helps. Have a Great Day!! Don Ransom
My name is Cheryl Cretin and I am looking for information on some of my husband's ancestors who lived in Onondaga County from about 1815 to the late 1830s. The RUDD family moved to the Lysander area about 1814. There were several children in the family. David RUDD married Amy HICKS in Onondaga County in February 1818. She was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (BUTTS)HICKS. Leonard RUDD married Sarah DEPUY about 1826 in Onondaga County. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Ariaantie (VANAKEN) DEPUY. Leonard was engaged in farming and boating on the Erie Canal. Olive RUDD married Asa MCDONALD July 2, 1822 in Onondaga County. Claracy RUDD married John PIERSON April 22, 1828. Vincent Rudd was living in Lysander in the 1830 census with a small daughter and two young sons. I have not been able to locate any information on Vincent. It is possible that he married a BARNES daughter since his youngest son was named Erastus Barnes RUDD. I have located several BARNES families in Onondaga about this time. Erastus RUDD married Harriet HILL probably in Onondaga County. Asa RUDD was born in Onondaga County in December 1832. This is my husband's great great grandfather. We believe that he may be the son of Vincent. If anyone has any information on these individuals please contact me. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Cheryl Cretin
Although I am trying to concentrate my genealogical efforts to finding the parents of the Stephen Van Rensselaer MALCOLM who was born 1818, Albany, NY, I do have lots of information I can contribute on the CATE/CATT families, as well as the WESTON, FELLOWS and APLIN/APPLIN families. Let me know how and in what form it is best to submit the information I have and I will try to make time to get it to you. Dorothy Cate Frisbie Escondido, CA
The obit of "Stephen R. MALCOMB" stated that he died 11 Jan 1905 in Syracuse and that among the survivors was a sister of Harrison, N. J. and two brothers in Kansas. I have traced the two brothers, Charles and Thomas, but I don't know who the sister was. He did have an older sister who married a Joseph Evan in IL, and a younger sister named Elizabeth, but I have no information as to her life after census records placing her in IL during the 1860s. Do any of the Onondaga County descendents of Mary and Stephen MALCOMB have any idea as to the name of the NJ sister? Dorothy Cate Frisbie Escondido, CA
Is the Carl GAGE who submitted the obit on Mrs. Mary A. MALCOMB, related to her sister Mrs. Charles L. GAGE of Syracuse, mentioned in the obit? If so, then we are related. Mary Ann (Weston) MALCOMB, widow of Stephen Van Rensselaer MALCOLM (the way most of my family spelled it) was my great-grandmother. Her daughter Grace was my grandmother, and HER daughter Julia May Malcolm FELLOWS was my mother. If there are others on this list interested in any of these names, I will be willing to share what information I have on these families. Dorothy Cate Frisbie Escondido, CA
Elizabeth MALCOLM, b. 24 Jun 1796, Albany, NY, married Edwin HOWLAND on 13 April 1850 in Syracuse, NY. Can I get some help (either by someone checking census records or the Syracuse City Directories) in locating any of their descendents -- if any!?! Although I was born and raised in Syracuse, wouldn't you know that I didn't start to get interested in family research until after just about all the older relatives died and I was on the other side of the country. Am new to the net and not exactly sure what I'm asking for????? I have Chapman roots in 1820 Onondaga County, NY so am interested in that area. Any info welcome. Thanks, Molly Stoddard

Hi Don, I don't know any of the people you mentioned at Xerox - I've been working in bldg. 129 my whole career so far (since 1990) - except now I have an office part time in bldg. 207, working on a new project. I'm an engineer by degree, but as I'm sure you know, you get to do all kinds of other fun things! If Family Tree Software can generate GEDCOM, you could put it on a disk and mail it to me, that would be the best way for me! Then I can import it into Family Origins and let it create web pages for your family - unless Family Tree Software can generate Web Pages (I'm not familiar with that software at all), and then that would be even better. My address: Pam Priest 544 Glenview Court Webster, NY 14580-1502 I bet you like the weather down in NC much better than NYS! I can't believe it's getting cold already up here! Anyways, have a nice day! Pam Priest http://www.rootsweb.com/~nyononda/INDEX.HTM Onondaga County NY USGenWeb Site Coordinator NY-ONONDA-L@rootsweb.com LIST OWNER
