I'm looking for the parents of William Van Buren Cole b. 23 Aug 1841 in Syracuse, Onondaga Co., New York..I am interested in finding who his parents and any siblings he might have before he left N.Y. and headed to Ohio or Illinois where he married Leah Lorrian ? about 1862-1864.. They're first child was born in 1864 Illinois Then William moved to Iowa, where he and his wife Leah had 6 more children... Oscar J. 1866, Josephine E. 1869, Edna C. 1871, Mary E. 1873, twin sons William L. and Willard C. 1875. The family moved to Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska where I find then in the 1880 census with a baby named Annie (6 months old)..The whole family moved again to Oregon where William and Leah had another son Fred C. born in 1883..After that I find the family in Guerneville, Sonoma Co., California..... The Cole's have another daughter born Maude M. 1887..William d. 02 December 1896 in a San Francisco hospital from Tuberclocis and is buried in the Guerneville cemetery...I would appreciate any information on William Cole and his family from New York and his parents names as well as his wife's maiden name..Thanks so much for any help.. nfoladydi@webtv.net

My husband is descended from Asa Rudd who was born in Lysander, Onondaga Co. in 1832. We believe his father was Vincent Rudd who was living in Lysander in the 1830 census. Through other information I have gathered I think there is a possibility that Vincent was married to a Barnes girl. I found an Asa Barnes who died in Pompey. Is anyone researching this family or has anyone stumbled across the Rudd family in Onondaga Co.? The Rudds moved to Onondaga from Rutland Co., VT and before that they lived in CT. Most of the older children were married in Onondaga Co. David Rudd married Amy Hicks the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Butts)Hicks. Leonard Rudd married Sarah Depuy daughter of Benjamin and Ariaantie (VanAken)Depuy. Leonard was engaged in boating on the Erie Canal. Olive Rudd married Asa McDonald. Daniel Hoskins born10/27/1731, Windsor, CT, married Abigail Welch in 1769. They had 1 child, Mary, then moved to Colebrook, CT. They winded up in New York.. Son Isaac Hoskins, born 01/12/1783 in Onondaga Co., NY, married Rachel Jones,the daughter of John Jones in 1807. She died in 1819, place unknown. Isaac moved his family to Pike County, IL in early 1820. Would like any information on any members of the Hoskins family. Would like any info on Abigail Welch. Need Daniel and Abigail's death dates. Also would like complete list of children they had. Would like info on Rachel Jones and her family. John Jones lived Manilus, his wife's name was Hannah. Would like info on when & where Rachel died.
