I am researching the YOUNG family from Syracuse. I found Daniel Young, his wife Lizzie, and their four children, Daniel, William, Arthur and Frances on the 1900 Fed. Census living at 613 W Fayette St. in Syracuse. As there is no soundex for the 1910 Census, is there a way I can find out the number of the enumeration district, so that I can try to locate them in the 1910 Census. Any help greatly apreciated. Dear Colleagues, I am seeking information on Sarah COYNE GANNON (d 1907) and her husband, Philip GANNON (d 1862). They and at least one child, Catherine, emigrated from Ireland to Marcellus, New York, about 1850, and lived on Slate hill in that town. They had at least three other children: Honora, Bridget and Ellen. Are thought to be related to the KELL(E)Y family of Syracuse which was involved in the coal and lumber business, one member of which, Leo KELLEY, was the person for whom my late father was named. Please reply not to the above address, but either of the following: mpmurphy@stthomas.edu or umunkle@aol.com Thanks, Mike Murphy
My great grandfather, Peter DICK, served in the Civil War in the 47th New York Volunteers. According to his military record, he was discharged two years early "in accordance with General Orders No. 91, War Department." Does anyone know what "General Orders 91" were, and what this means. Any feedback or ideas on other places to search would also be greatly appreciated. Thank. Roger S. Reid ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Family Mediation Center Roger S. Hello. I am looking for information on a family that went back and forth between Utica and Syracuse. In Utica: Margaret Brennan, presumed to come over from Ireland as a small child. parents? Estimated birth from death cert: 1846; Ireland. Obit in the Utica observer says she came to this country as a small child, settling in Utica. Married: William Doherty, born 1846, Hastings on the Hudson; son of John Dougherty and Margaret______ In the 1860 Census of Syracuse, the family is there, John the father being age 68 and Margaret the wife being 48. John, William, and Daniel are all there. Eventually, William and Margaret settle in Utica, and their obits are in the Utica observer, 1911; 1915 respectively...I have them. Per another's notes: They are buired in Calvary Cemetary, Utica. However, I do not have a marriage record for them! And really need to determine if the oldest daughter, Henrietta's birth location. The family settles out west (Makato Kansas) between 1876 and 1890, and I have very good details of their time in Kansas. It is the marriage and the birth of oldest daughter Henrietta I am interested in. I have written the Catholic Churches in both Utica and Syracuse on the records, and never received an answer. Any ideas Fellow researchers? Thanks Barbara in Fairbanks, Alaska mlm@mosquitonet.com

Pam, There was a state census done in New York in 1892. It contains only basic information (name, gender, age, occupation), but it helps bridge the gap resulting from the missing 1890 census. Sometime in the late 1700's, a number of families supposedly left together from Onondaga co. (I know, it wasn't formed until 1794, but I think this happened before then) and went to PA, then later on to Kentucky, by flatboat. The families were Eli and Patience Martin, Aiken, Baker, White,Spillman and another Martin family. Can anyone give me anymore info on them (like first names and where they lived). What I've just stated is all I know about them. Jim in Ohio
