    1. Re: test
    2. Pam, It goes in cycles! We're just waiting for an interesting topic, or question, that sparks the interests of the many Schoharie associates. For those of us who are far removed from Schoharie County and can only make infrequent visits, the information posted by the local members become very interesting history lessons. I, for one, would like to find out if there are any kind of local census records between 1770 and 1830? Were all land transactions filed during this period with the county? What part of the county was created from other counties, and when? For instance, if John McDonald bought land in Albany County after 1770 and later was shown living in Schoharie County but didn't move, where is the most likely area that he would have owned land? So Pam, stoke the fire of conversation with some challenging questions.

    1. STORY
    2. Hi, I am new to this list. I am searching the family of Thomas STORY who was living in the town of Tully, NY in 1860. At that time he was living with his son, Thomas, Jr. I believe Daniel Story was also a son of Thomas. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sharon

    1. "Birth & Death Records"
    2. Onondaga county has records of births and deaths from 1873 to present. And the earlier ones are only transcripts. Which in my case helped very little. 1. The GLYNNS of Onondaga Co.
    2. Edward H. GAULIN
    3. I am a new subscriber to this list and thought I should ask a question of two to break the ice. WILLARD GLYNN (ancestry unkn) was b. 1806 in VT and d. 1 Apr. 1883, aged 77 yrs., 2 mos., at Lockport, NY. He and his wife are bur. at Glenwood Cemetery. According to the 1880 Census his father was b. VT and his mother in MA. At the 1830 Federal Census, a Willard Glynn, his wife and 3 children (all under 5) were residing at Elbridge, Onondaga Co., NY [pp 83]. Rufus GLYNN and his family also were residents of Elbridge in 1830 [pp 86]. The families of Charles A. GLYNN, Dudley GLYNN, Rufus GLYNN, and a widow Sarah GLYNN were all residents of Camillus, Onondaga Co., NY at the 1820 Census. At the 1840 Census only Rufus GLYNN's family was still at Elbridge, but was joined by Edward GLINN and Ira GLYNN. Willard was m. abt. 1832, perhaps at Onondaga Co., NY, to SARAH E. __________, who was b. 1805/06 at Otsego Co., NY and d. 25 Dec. 1889, aged 94 yrs., at Lockport. Her father, who has not been identified, was b. NY, and her mother, name unkn., was b. MA [1880 Census]. NOTE: The 1830 Federal Census for Elbridge lists a Willard Glynn, age 20-30, a female age 20-30, a male and 2 females under 5. If this is the Lockport family, all of these children must have died bef. 1850 when the family is found in Lockport, NY. The 1855 NY Census shows Willard as a resident for 21 years or since 1834, and Eliza Glynn (i. below) is not listed. *************** Can anyone help fill in the gaps about any of these families? Are there vital records for the county available for this period? How about church records for Elbridge and Camillus? Thanks in advance, Ed \\!// (0 0) |--------o000--(_)--000o--------| Genealogist researching: GAULIN(GOLIN, GOLER)(anywhere), LACASSE(CASSE) (PQ),and DUBE(PQ);NEEDHAM(MA,NY),GLYNN(MA,VT,NY),SMITH(NJ, NY) and the descendants of Major John MASON of Norwich, CT.
