    3. I am looking for any kind of marriage record for Giles Sad(d)ler and Sophia Robinson. They are in Cicero in 1830, both born in MA, probably married between 1820 and 1830. Giles born about 1804, Sophia about 1808-9. Either or both may have been in the township of Manlius in 1820. If anyone has any information of these two people, I would much appreciate it

    3. Hi Karen, You should check the Onondaga Courthouse to see if they have the records first and then the National Archives. Most of the time they give family information, including where the person is from. My question is can I get a copy of his naturalization papers? Would they have any information as to where he came from in Canada? I am sorry to ask so many questions but I am new at this. Maybe she is related to yours. She is Mary HICKS, born circa 1881 around Onondaga county. She married my ancestor, Uriah TRAPP and had around 8 or 9 children. Other than that, I know nothing about her. Do you think she's related to yours?

If the records for Riverside Cemetery are in the keeping of the town clerk, here is the address and phone number for the town of Clay: Clay Town Clerk, 4483 Route 31, Liverpool, NY 13090 phone 315-652-3800. 3. Family Crests - Ancestral Coat of Arms This came on the YORK list, but it would apply to anyone looking for a "Coat of Arms". Nancy Watrous FIWATROUS@aol.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ << Family crests are specific to one specific family. If you get deep into >> heraldry you will find that the family crest of families changes with >.each marrage to a member of another family. Therefore if two YORK borthers >> married women from different families their children would have slightly >> different family crests. They make >.no attempt to research and determine if the person they are producing a >.crest for has any right to use that crest. >> In England & Wales the Crest forms part of the Grant of Arms and is, therefore specific to the person receiving the Grant. Unlike the "shield", which is exclusive and must be "differenced" when a younger son uses it to distingish it from that of his father/eldest brother, several families and/or branches of the same family may have the identical Crest. The right to a Coat of Arms is exclusive to the male heir of the person to whom the original grant or confirmation was made. Unless a trained genealogist can prove such a direct descent, the high street/mail order heraldic artist's product is nothing more than a generalisation of the Arms and pedigree "associated" with the family name and confirms no right to use the Coat of Arms as your own. -- Nigel Barker

    2. James
    3. Looking for someone who lives in the Fabius area and would have knowledge of whether town census exists for the 1700-1800's. Trying to find family of Burnett J. Brink born March 1955. It seems that he preferred to be called J rather than by his first name. Federal Census of 1870 lists the family as follows: Father: Henry Brink Mother: Hedicia (?) not sure of this name, was not legible in census Siblings: Francis born about 1847 Edwin born abourt 1850 Arnold born abourt 1862 Anna born about 1865 Fred H. born about 1869 Burnett married twice but it appears three daughters were from first marriage. First marriage possible to woman by the name of Hale. Burnett and his second wife lived in Cortland with three daughters Grace, Lilian and Maude Vincent (middle name may be that of a female ancestor). Maude married Wallace Carlyle Hickok and was living in Syracuse, as a widow when Burnett died in January 1948. Have reason to believe that Burnett's grandfather was also named Henry and his grandmother Catherine. Also that his father Henry had a brother William and a sister Margaret. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
