    3. Renne, Not sure this will go through. Yours is the first message I've received from any of my 10 Rootsweb Maillists in over a week. I did a Google search and found this, in the Onondaga County list archives: NYONONDA-L Archives From: [email protected] Subject: Re: NYONONDA-D Digest V00 #166 Date: Sat, 26 Aug 2000 17:26:48 EDT Yes, there was a Schumaker Funeral Home on W. onondaga St. and I have heard of Rev. Joslyn. The source might be our local paper--The Post Standard or the Herald Journal. Not sure what they might have been called in the 30s. Jean Eustis Sharon

    2. Renne M Blocker
    3. Hello there listers, On my great grandfather's obituary of April 1930 it says that A.C. Schumacher Funeral Home would hold his funeral. I have been trying to find out more info on my gr grandfather and thought that if I called the funeral home they might have names of his relatives, survivors etc. on file as his obit was very brief and just said he died on April 3, 1930 and that that particular funeral home would have his funeral. Of course there is no Schumacher's Funeral Home in this area anymore. Does anyone on the list remember that particular funeral home from days gone by?Where was it located and is it possible it is still in operation under another name if it changed ownership? My great grandfather was Horace G. Lathrop and he is buried in Onondaga Valley Cemetery so I am thinking it may be his funeral was held at a location maybe on W. Seneca Turnpike, Valley Dr., S. Salina St., or Lafayette. Is there perhaps a Funeral Directors Association or something similar in this county that I could call to ask where the records of A.C. Schumacher's Funeral Home would be? Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. 1. [NYOnonda] Re: finding information from batch numbers
    2. JOYCE FESLER
    3. Dear Lauren, The information you are seeking is not available on the internet. The only way to obtain it is to go to your nearest Family History Library (located in a Mormon church near you) and if they do not have (LDS batch 8715903, sheet 69, source call # 1396356, film 170624 page 133.) film # 170624 already on indefinite loan; you will have to order that film for a small fee. You can only view the film at the library; but you can copy or photocopy the information you want. I have viewed those for my family and the submitter information was in the lower right corner of the page. These are family group sheets submitted by church members so if there is one for someone in your family it would indicate that somewhere in the family is a member of this church. Good luck with your search. If you are physically unable to get to the Family History Library you might phone the one nearest you and see if they can arrange for someone to help you or try contacting the main library in Salt Lake City to see if a copy could be made and mailed to you. If you find a way other than going to the library please let us know. I am unfamiliar with the submitter and always wondered if he was related. Of course any new information is welcome but I wonder if in this case, the energy to look might be wasted. 3. I've never had that problem. Is it possible that your ISP or your email program limits the number of attachments? Also, if you are using recent versions of Outlook (I'm not sure about Outlook Express) only a certain number of attachments are displayed at one time and you have to scroll the list to see the rest of them. -----Original Message----- From: Helen Shannon [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, October 03, 2003 12:30 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [NYOnonda] Missing letters Hi , When I receive the message from the List it gives me a list of the current messages but sometimes only a few of them appear as attachments. 1. [NYOnonda] William Beagle (Beegle), Edward Beagle (Beegle) in NY, OH, MI

    3. Subject: William BEAGLE, Edward BEAGLE William R. BEAGLE (BEEGLE) NY, OH, MI In researching my known ancestors in Michigan, I find all their names were spelled BEAGLE on census and other records until the late 1800s/early 1900s. Spelling then changed to BEEGLE. I understand they lived in NY prior to moving to MI. William Beegle (age 45 years and over) is listed as head of household in the 1820 Federal Census in Schoharie County, NY. William Beagle and Edward Beagle are listed in the 1830 Town of Cicero, Onondaga County, Census Index. William Beagle (age 30-40) and Edward Beagle (age 60-70) are listed in the 1830-1840 (probably 1840) Census in Onondaga County, NY. They are listed separately, and each has his own family. Edward Beagle (age 72) is listed in the 1850 Census in Crawford County, OH. Birthplace NY. Members of his household included Betsy (age 63), Samuel (age 22) and Edward (age 19). William Beagle (age 39) is listed in the 1850 Census in Branch County, MI. Birthplace NY. William Beagle (age 52) is listed in the 1860 Census in Branch County, MI. Edward Beagle is listed as a member of his household (age 81). William R. Beagle (age 3) is also a member of the household. William Beagle married Mary OLDS in Branch County, MI, in 1852, and he died in Branch County, MI, in 1868. William R. Beagle (age 13) is listed in the 1870 Census in Branch County, MI. He was born in Burr Oak, MI. William R. married Deborah WASHBURN in 1876 in Bronson, Branch County, MI. They moved to Muskegon County, MI, prior to the 1880 Census. His name is spelled Beegle in his 1941 death record and obituary in Muskegon County, MI. I hope to: Establish the relationship between Edward and William. Edward might have been William's father, or possibly an uncle. Determine whether the Edward and William who were in NY in 1830-40 are the same Edward and William who were later in MI. Learn when they came to America and their country of origin. Locate gravesite of William Beagle, who died in 1868 in Branch County, MI. Am willing to share information. Thank you. 3. As of yet, I am not positive but I think my 'Rowe' ancestors lived on or near Watervale. Thanks Lauren Rowe -----Original Message----- From: Michael McGraw [mailto:[email protected]] Monday, September 29, 2003 11:28 AM To: [email protected] RE: [NYOnonda] Pensions & Watervale To List, There might be more than one but there is a Watervale in the Town of Pompey in Onondaga County. It is located in the northern portion of the town on Watervale Road between East Seneca Turnpike (173) on the north and the Cherry Valley Turnpike (Route 20) on the south. It also shows up on the 1874 map of the Town of Pompey so it has been around for quite a while. I'm curious. The location of this place just might be important to someone's research in the future. Perhaps the ANSWERS to questions posted on this list should also be posted to the list since they are, after all, about Onondaga County -- maybe others might be as interested in the information as I am. 3. I agree! I also get frustrated when messages fail to give surnames. Who knows I might be related, but if the message gives information but no surname then I can't know... Do you know what I mean? 1. [NYOnonda] The SailCats - Eclectic Acoustic Music are coming to Fabius,NY
    2. The Fabius Historical Society Presents Monday at 7:00PM October 6th, 2003 Please note the time 7:00pm instead of the normal 7:30PM At the Fabius Community Center The SailCats - Eclectic Acoustic Music The SailCats - a duo of Mark Boudreau and Bill Fahy features the music of the Mandolin and Acoustic Guitar. The Duo performs a wide range of music spanning well over 100 years of musical selections. The duo got together to explore traditional music on the mandolin, but expanded it's offerings to include some folk, celtic, jazz, and rock as well as numerous traditional songs and tunes. Mark "Conrad" Boudreau is an accomplished solo musician who has over 20 years of performing experience throughout the USA at coffehouses, festivals, and clubs. Bill Fahy is a current member of one of Central NY's finest Old Time Bands, The Tired Hands String Band and has been performing in Central NY for over 5 years at venues such as the Kirkland Arts Center. Their combined talents and varied musical perspective give the Sail Cats a truly unique sound. Collectors of vintage instruments as well, together Mark and Bill currently have one of upstate NY's finest collection of vintage Gibson Instruments. This museum quality collection and the stories that accompany it permeates Americana at its best; moreover the tonal qualities of these nearly 100 year old instruments is extraordinary. Steeped in tradition, but open to newer compositions, the SailCats blend the best of the old and new (sometimes in the same piece). Reminiscent of the "Brother Duo's" of the 30's and 40's, the Sail Cats feature driving instrumentals played on vintage instruments from the period, blended with tight vocal harmonies. An evening with the SailCats promises to be fun and entertaining! This event is free and open to the general public. Please feel free to pass this email on to those that might be interested.
