I'm trying to contact a DUNN descendant of Oneida County that knows someone that might have researched the JOHN DUNN bn. abt. 1825 in Ireland and was living with his family in Oneida Castle in 1860 census. He was married to Lydia, and they had the following children: MICHAEL bn. abt. 1856 Mary abt. 1858 John abt. 1860 Maggie abt. 1863. (Maggie was not in 1860 census) It is my understanding from family rumor that John Dunn died in an accident abt. 1863. His wife Lydia was living with a WM. KNOWLES in Lenox, Madison co. in 1870 census. It is my understanding that she died abt. 1872. I've been unable to find the children except baby Elizabeth that was bn. to Lydia Dunn and William Knowles in 1869. She was my husband's grandmother. I've researched just about every DUNN in ONEIDA CO. and believe me there are a lot of them. I'm just hoping that someone reading this will know of a historian or a liviing relative that might be able to throw some light on this DUNN family. Phyllis in Fl.
