In the 1951 will of Louise A. Kaut of Utica, daughter of Nicholas Kaut (Cout) and Anna Fitzsimmons Kaut - Louise names Katherine Hanlon Lynch of 2011 Sunset Ave. Utica, NY as her Executrix with Katherine's husband James Lynch to serve if has died. She later claims that Katherine Hanlon Lynch is her second cousin. I've looked over the Lynch's in the St. John's, Newport Cemetery carefully and with hopes all the facts don't seem to match up. Can anyone shed some light on this for me and help me learn how Katherine Hanlon Lynch is related to Louise Kaut. Of note: there are 2 Nicholas Kauts, they are brothers, found in the 1865 Herkimer County census, on a later census - one is listed as Cout rather than the previous spelling. This family moved to La Junta, CO and then came back. Mother, father and 2 daughters are buried at St. Agnes Cemetery, Utica. Through the Fitzsimmons side of their family they are related to the Patrick and Mary Dillon family of Little Falls with ancestors in Richfield Springs, Ilion and Mohawk - including the O'Neil, Weldon, Smith, Ludwig, Maguire families in that area. They are related to the Knefley family of Utica and Jenne families of Chenango and Madison County. Another name in the will unknown to me is Katherine J. Rath, first cousin of 101 Addington Pl. Utica - though I'm suspecting that she may be related to Louise Kaut through the Kaut side rather than the Fitzsimmons side of the family. Thanks, Mark [email protected]
