    3. Hi, Seeking the names of parents of Jonas Platt (James B.) Cook [1811-1880]. My 'cousin' Arlene Cook wrote this letter below: Jonas Platt Cook (aka James B. Cook) worked for the NJ & NY Railroad in the 1800's.  Here is what I know: Jonas was born 1811 in Madison or Oneida Co., NY.  He married Catherine Fuller of Oneida Co., before 1840.  From census information, I have the following:         1850 Westmoreland, Oneida Co., NY:  Jonas P. Cook, listed as a mechanic         1860 Harrington, Bergen Co., NJ:  Johnas P. Cook, listed as a track master         1870 Orangetown, Rockland Co., NY: James B. Cook, listed as track supervisor RR         1880 Washington Twp., Bergen Co., NJ: Jonas P. Cook, listed as track master                 In 1880 Jonas was living in the household of James Cummings (he was a blacksmith).                 Also in this household were:                         Jacob D. Hasbrouck, age 38, superintendent NJ&NY RR                         L.B. Van Wagnen, age 50, master mechanic         Jonas P. Cook died in mid-December 1880 and is buried in the Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, Rockland Co., NY. Would you have any idea who would have more in-depth records of the NJ&NY Railroad?  I greatly appreciate any assistance you can give to me. Thanks, Janice <jnrose@webtv.net> and Arlene
