    3. Hi List! I have a dilema and am hoping that somone on this list might be able to help me. I want to find the burial place of my gr gr gr gr grandfather, Amos Woodworth. He was born before 1749 in Connecticut and he died sometime after 1791and I believe it was in the Town of Florence, Oneida County. His son (Amos, also) who was my gr gr gr grandfather was a town supervisor in the Town of Florence twice from what the records say. I was told that he (Amos Jr.) was buried in the Fruit Valley area of Oswego in a cemetery on Cemetery Road. I went there Sunday and I am very happy to have found his tombstone. However, Amos (senior), I believe is buried in the Camden area in someone's field. My Great Aunt (Gladys Boardman-Amos) who has passed away, went to a man's house in the Camden area and he let them go back into the field to see the stone. She put tracing paper on it and kept it, but no one seems to know what happened to that paper! Does anyone on this list know of a very old house that used to be the Woodworth property? My Dad (who is 85 now) went with her when she saw the stone, and he said that the man let them look threw the windows of an abandoned old house on the property and he told them that this was the Woodworth's home. I'm afraid that my Dad can't remember exactly where it was. I would really appreciate any help. I would love to know if the stone is still there and if I might be able to take a photo of it. Thanks! Carol Bain P.S. Amos (senior) was a Revolutionary War Veteran and it was through his name that my Great Aunt joined the DAR.

    3. Carol, I checked the 1874 Atlas map for the Town of Florence on www.historicmapworks.com and there were a bunch of "WHITFORDs" in the Empeyville section of the Town of Florence. I am sending you a couple of scans under separate email. Looks like you would do well to take a trip to the Oneida Co. Clerk's office to determine which property would be the one you want. There are a "LOT" of them. Dick Hillenbrand On 4/23/07, Carol Bain <cbain44@twcny.rr.com> wrote: > > Hi List! > I have a dilema and am hoping that somone on this list might be able to > help me.
