    1. Re: [NYONEIDA] Camden/Florence before 1870
    2. Frank, You have a few questions and these are just a few suggestions. To see where the family actually lived, could be determined by a looking for deeds in the Oneida County clerks office. The earliest land purchase by William, if there is one, would tell you when they may have arrived in the county. His subsequent land transaction may tell you when they moved, from Florence to Camden township. A check at the Onondaga county clerks office will show when they may have arrived and if they sold to move on. Directories/gazetteers may also list the family if they are available. I would not rule out searching the State of Michigan for them since may families migrated there from NY. Josepine's memebership at St Mary's by letter, should list the church in Syracuse. Record books at St Mary's should note this. I have seen other church records where admission by letter was followed by noting the preceeding church. If the Syracuse church is named the same can be done if the family was admitted by letter there. Chances are the family attended a Church in either the town of Florence or Camden. Hope these will help. I'm sure there other avenues to look into, these are just a few. Good luck with your search.
