I actually bought a copy of the will from Sampubco. It was only three pages but a great find as it named all the daughters by their married names and I could easily track them to Censuses! I also ordered it despite the date, 1862, being wrong for him. He died in 1847, but his wife died in 1862 and that was when the will was probated. http://www.sampubco.com/wills/search.htm Then I transcribed it and sent it to Rootsweb. The transcriptions are at so you should check there to see if someone already transcribed it! http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ny/nysearch-wills.htm Happy Hunting! Apparently this company provides vital records for the State of New York (perhaps other states as well). I was able to get a will for an ancestor through this service that had not come to light in any other way, so I was very pleased. It is not free, but it's less expensive than a trip to NY!
