Hi Alice, Did Sarah marry into the family for which Mappa Avenue is named after? John Hughes [1834-1919] and Susan Jones [1838-1917], (my 2 great grandparents), came from North Wales. They had several children, among them being Edwin Hughes [1860-1931], the justice of the peace in Barneveld, NY. Jennie Hughes, the youngest, married Howard MacIntosh. They ran a big lumber yard in Barneveld ( MacIntosh & Jepson), and lived just across Mappa Avenue from Edwin Hughes' home. John Hughes sold the plot of ground on which the library stands.
