My husband and I did this summer and I was amazed at the number of papers, their age, and how hard it would be to photocopy them. I'm not surprised the fees have been increased, and they certainly did listen to the complaints and the suggestions from people because this fee schedule is adjusted to the original proposal. Before I went all I could think of is how unfair the fee increase was. After I went, I thought it probably should be higher.     3. Before we complain you should read the whole story. Dick EASTMAN has it on his site. I was one of the apparant few that wrote them. They did reduce from what they wanted to charge. They can not make a profit but lost the GRANT the government used to give them to keep the fees lower. The difference has to come from somewhere. You also have between now and the 1 October date to order data you wish at old prices. I am thrilled it's not the fees they suggested and surely will not complain to help them maintain them for future generations.
