Very frankly, when we went to NARA to do research it appeared the help thought they were doing us a favor and seemed rather unambitious. I have no doubt that the employee group has changed by now and I hope they are more helpful. I know a bit how an office work and it was not a totally helpful experience. They did reduce from what they wanted to charge. They can not make a profit but lost the GRANT the government used to give them to keep the fees lower. The difference has to come from somewhere. You also have between now and the 1 October date to order data you wish at old prices.
