I do some research for my dad's cousin who was with the 8th US Army's 385th Bomb Group in WWII. They flew out of Great Ashfield, England and on his 24th mission he was shot down, crash landing in Sweden. I was able to find a newspaper account of the crash with all the crew listed and pictures of the plane as it rested in a farmers field. They survived thanks to pilot Duane Pangle's skill and were interned in Sweden for months. These men deserve tribute not only on Veterans Day but for each and every day as I read more and more of their service. God Bless them everyone!
