I'm looking for John Richards who was born in Wales and died about 1840-1850, I believe at Utica, New York. When his daughter Jane Elizabeth (aka Jennie) was "quite young." His wife Elizabeth and family moved to Ticonderoga, NY where they are listed in the 1850 census. Elizabeths obituary palces the marriage in Johnsburg in 1830. I have a sketchy reference to a John Richards who worked on the Erie canal. Would you have an idea of what church the Welsh would have attended? Jennie was a member of the Baptist church in Ticonderoga until her marriage when she joined her husband in the Episcopal church.
