Am still trying to track down information on Riley Button, believed to have married Patience Weter. Riley is listed in the 1830 census in Floyd and in the 1840 census in Marcey. I know that his three sons, Alexander, Mayhew and Ezra moved to Walworth County, WI in 1850 as did a daughter who married someone with a surname of NUTT. I am trying to ascertain what events may have occurred in the 1840's that would enable the children to move west and never mention their parents in any documents such as diaries, letters, etc. Was there a disaster of some sort that may have killed the parents? Where would one look for information of this sort? Would death records be located someplace for this time period and if so, where would I look? Any assistance is appreciated. Colleen
