Hi Jack, I got your reply and I don't think I've heard of the book History of Remsen. My HUNTS start with ASAHEL HUNT, who was the son of LT. SIMEON HUNT OF COVENTRY. He was born in 1757 in Northhampton,Ma He moved to Bridgewater around 1794 and married DIANTHA DIMMOCK in 1796. Their son HIRAM, my great-greatgrandfather, was born in 1797 and married ANN KIRKLAND in 1820. Ann's father was STEPHEN KIRKLAND her mother was ABIGAIL PRATT. They were from Saybrook, CT. ASA P. and NATHANIEL were Ann's brothers. ASAHEL and DIANTHA are buried in Bridgewater. ASAHEL died in 1839 and HIRAM had moved to Wisconsin by 1869. ANN'S sister MARTHA married WILLIAM LEWIS and then moved to New Haven Ct. I have no other information on William Lewis. My ROCKWOOD'S have been very hard to trace. SHERMAN MORGAN LEWIS ROCKWOOD was my great-greatgrandfather. SHERMAN was born in Herkimer Co. NY in 1807. He married CATHERINE ROOT. Her father was WINTHROP ROOT of Chatham NY. Her mother was SUSAN CADY. SILAS ROCKWOOD was SHERMAN'S father. His mother was a LURA DEWITTE. They appear in the 1800 Herkimer U.S. census. When SHERMAN died his father was listed as Silas Rockwood of Trenton Falls NY. That is all I know. I would appreciate any help you can give. Thank you Lynn Crowder
