    3. Hello everyone, I'm new to the list and wanted to start by letting you know what I'm researching. It's my own family and the name is WHITNEY. I had no idea there were so many. Using the census of 1880 NY.,I found my G grandfather in Herkimer NY.along with my grandfather, Frank Douglas Whitney and three other children, Charles, Viola Fidelia, and Rozell. Their father was PERRY PERCY WHITNEY b. 1835-6 around the Town of Vernon, Oneida Co. He married Pamelia (Parmelia) Pullman in Herkimer in 1867 After his return from the war. I'm searching for proof of Perry's birth and his parents. Perry was in the 117th NY Vol. also called The Oneida 4th. Enlisting on the same day with Perry was LaFayette Whitney, his brother. In the 1850 Oneida Co. census listed in what apears to be a family group are eight whitneys. Joseph, Hannah, Leonard, Joseph, Philo, LaFayette, Perry, and Amanda. This census is for the town of Vernon. The 1855 census for Herkimer Co. shows a P.Whitney and P. Pullman working for L.W. Farmer and in his household. If this is Perry he is about 19 and has left home and has met Pamelia. I'm also looking for a connection to Joseph's parents. Maybe Phineas (Phinehas) in Herkimer. If anyone has seen or has a connection with any of these people I would love to hear from you. Thank you, Cliff -- Cliff Whitney 6614 Candlewood Drive Charlotte, NC 28210 Mrcliff@mindspring.com
