I notice that you list you address as Holland Patent (I am an SVCS graduate if that means anything to you!) and wonder if you know anything of how that hamlet got its name. I know the word "patent" is used as a designation for the parcels of land that were given out to the early NYS settlers, and I assume Holland Patent was given to Dutch settlers -- anything else interesting about it?
