Seeking info on the family of Daniel and Jedidah (GATES) STERLING, supposedly in Oneida Co. from the 1790s til their deaths around 1808. Daniel apparently is not listed in the 1800 NY census index. Three children born to them. A believed relative (son, nephew?) Morse STERLING gave Westmoreland, NY as his birthplace, 1804 or 1814 on his Civil War papers for guard duty service while living in Illinois. Linda Kmiecik, Girard, IL
