I'm researching my MOORE line and have come to a brick wall with Nathan MOORE's ancestors...His father, Richard, lived in Marshal, Oneida County, NY. Is there someone out there that recognizes this line? Any additions, corrections, etc. would be greatly appreciated.This is what I have so far... First Generation 1. Richard MOORE , Sr. Born in 1738. Richard died in January 1822; he was 84. Buried in Moore's Corners, Oneida Co., NY. Richard Moore Sr. came from Middletown, Connecticut, about 1793 and made his home with his son at Moore's Corners, N.Y. He came to Oneida County, New York, after the death of his wife in Middletown, Connecticut. Richard married Unknown. Unknown died in Middletown, Conn. They had the following children: 2 i. Richard (1764-1847) 3 ii. Daniel Second Generation Family of Richard MOORE , Sr. (1) & Unknown 2. Richard MOORE , Jr. Born on April 26, 1764 in Middlestown, Middlesex Co., Conn. Richard died on May 11, 1847; he was 83. Buried in Moore's Corners Cem., Oneida Co. NY. Richard Moore moved to Marshal, Oneida County, New York, about 1790. He settled at Moores Corners, cleared land and built a log cabin. The farm was owned by the family for nearly one hundred years. Richard married Abagail SIMMONS, daughter of Aaron SIMMONS (1736-1811) & Abagail (1736-1818). Born on August 6, 1763. Abagail died on May 8, 1842; she was 78. Buried in Paris Hill Cem., Oneida Co., NY. They had one child: 4 i. Nathan (1801-1888) 3. Daniel MOORE. Third Generation Family of Richard MOORE , Jr. (2) & Abagail SIMMONS 4. Nathan MOORE. Born on February 21, 1801. Nathan died on July 5, 1888; he was 87. Buried in Moore's Corners Cem., Oneida Co. NY. Nathan Moore lived and farmed on the farm that was one half of the original acres that his father, Richard Moore, Jr., and his uncle, Daniel Moore, purchased from the State of NY in 1795. Nathan married Sarah Melville BRIGHAM, daughter of Abel BRIGHAM (1760-1834) & Lydia MELVIN/MELVILLE (1767-1840). Born on August 9, 1804. Sarah Melville died on December 21, 1891; she was 87. Buried in Hanover Cem., Oneida Co., NY. They had the following children: 5 i. Lydia Ann (1826-) 6 ii. Lucy Janette (1829-1916) 7 iii. Mary Jane (1831-) 8 iv. Henry M. (1833-~1875) 9 v. Caroline Abigail (1838-1900) 10 vi. Addison Dwight (1839-) 11 vii. Wayne D. (1842-) Fourth Generation Family of Nathan MOORE (4) & Sarah Melville BRIGHAM 5. Lydia Ann MOORE. Born in 1826/1827. Lydia Ann first married William PECK. Born in 1822/1823. William died in Killed in Civil War. They had the following children: i. Mary (Minnie) ii. Willie Eugene Lydia Ann second married ? RISING. Lydia Ann third married ? PALMER. Lydia Ann fourth married E. Day EATON. 6. Lucy Janette MOORE. Born on November 3, 1829. Lucy Janette died on January 14, 1916; she was 86. Lucy Janette first married Edwin Dwight GREENHILL. Born on October 16, 1825. Edwin Dwight died on April 17, 1857; he was 31. Lucy Janette second married Henry HURLBURT. 7. Mary Jane MOORE. Born in 1831/1832. Mary Jane married Levi (Sam) BUCKINGHAM. Born in 1825/1826. They had the following children: i. Lillie (Lillian) (1854-) ii. Jennie (1859-) iii. Augusta (1864-) iv. Susan (1866-) v. Samuel F. (1868-) 8. Henry M. MOORE. Born in 1833/1834. Henry M. died between 1875/1880; he was 42. Henry M. married Rhoda Ann. They had one child: i. Sarah M. 9. Caroline Abigail MOORE. Born on July 4, 1838 in Hanover, NY. Caroline Abigail died in Town of Pittsfield, Otsego Co, NY on October 14, 1900; she was 62. Buried in St. Andrew's Cemetery, New Berlin, NY. Occupation: housewife. Religion: Episcopalian. When Caroline Moore was visiting her father and mother in Moore's Corners, Oneida Co., NY, the 1870 census was taken. Her sister Lucy Janett's age was given as 41, which was correct. Caroline gave the ages of her two children, Addie 2 yrs. old, and Belle as 11 months. She gave her age as 28, she was 32. On December 13, 1865 when Caroline Abigail was 27, she married Augustus Jesse BEARDSLEE, son of Jesse BEARDSLEE (March 8, 1802-September 28, 1879) & Adaline ANGELL (April 17, 1803-September 25, 1843). Born on March 26, 1837 in Town of Pittsfield, Otsego Co, NY. Augustus Jesse died in Pittsfield, Otsego Co, NY at 1:30 AM on June 26, 1881; he was 44. Buried in St. Andrew's Cemetery, New Berlin, NY. Occupation: Farmer. Religion: Episcopalian. They had the following children: i. Adaline A. (1867-1954) ii. Marrianne Isabelle (1869-) iii. Jabez Dwight (1872-1946) iv.
