    3. Marsha, My grandmother died in Marcy in 1945 and I've often wondered about why they put people there. My older relatives say my grandfather thought she "talked too much" so he put her there. If anyone has insight into this, I'd love to hear it. Also, sad to say, earlier--maybe in the '20s, they had several of their children removed from their home because they couldn't provide for them. Does anyone know anything about this practice? I've heard rumors of it happening quite a bit in NY, but no details. My family doesn't talk about it.
