Hello Oneida Co.. NY List Members: Could someone on the Oneida Co. list please help us. For the past five years we have been looking for the roots of my great grandfather, STEPHEN A. CHURCHILL who was born August 12, 1819. His father was reported to be ANSON CHURCHILL who would have been born about 1790/95. Research has taken us all over the Northeast US and Canada and we still can't seem to find his roots. By all accounts, Stephen married his bride, LOUISA "LIZA" SMITH on September 13, 1841 in a village/city called BEDFORD although we do admit this could be Bedford Twp., or Bedford County. Checking the US NY Census has produced a very strong signal that Anson Churchill, and possibly Stephen, his son, lived in Oneida Co., New York. Anson Churchill frequently showed up in the 1830, 1840 and 1860 Federal Census in the cities of: 1st Ward Utica-NY, Annsville Town, Kirkland, and Vienna Towen. If anyone on the Oneida Co. mail list has any CHURCHILL information which could possibly help us in our quest, it would be appreciated very much. Descendants of Stephen A.
