The 1790 Census shows three families with the SAYLES spelling, all in Stillwater, Albany County; p.50. (Oneida County did not exist at this time.) Oneida County's powers that were, tidied everything..... no towns listed, and only the first initial of the heads of household. Not the whole state did this. Oneida is "special".
