My ggrandfather, Griffith W. Griffiths came to this country from Wales for the first time in 1879 with a Hugh Williams a compartment-mate. Griff came to America to stay, with his wife and children, in 1888 and settled in Utica. Griff was a union organizer/secretary--Carpenter's union--in Utica. He and his wife adopted the wife's neice, Elsie Griffiths who was born in 1894 in PA, when Elsie's mother died ca 1897. Elsie married a Hugh Williams and lived in Rome, NY. Also, a Hugh Williams was a pallbearer at Griff's funeral in 1921. I have photos --some unlabeled and unidentified --from before 1921 especially. Ring any bells?? Thanks for your time, Pat Griffiths
