You should look in the 1880 Oneida Co Census for this family. The 1880 census is soundexed for households with children under 10yrs. This family should soundexed. The soundex number for Bell would be B400. The soundex makes it easier for you to find exactly what town they were in. (It is a roll of microfilmed cards with the family names, ages, and where they lived at the time of the census.) It saves searching the entire census if you don't know for sure which town they lived in. If you don't know how the soundex works here is a great place for you to start: http://www.rootsweb.com/~rwguide/ click on lesson 9 It will tell you all there is to know about census info! (and it's all free!!) It also gives you ideas on where you can access census, places you can order it, etc. I wish you the best and if I can be of any more help please contact me.
