I'm looking for info on my gg-grandfather Joseph COCHRAN(E), b. 2 Dec 1820, Brownville, Jefferson Co NY. His father's name was also Joseph, b. Glasgow, Scotland, date unknown. There is a Joseph Cochran is listed in the 1820 census index for Jefferson County. Sometime after that, I'm guessing they moved to Oneida County, as there is a Joseph Cochran listed in the 1840 census index: COCHRAN, Joseph, Oneida County NY, p. 145, Whitestown, ID#NYS4a529997 Joseph Cochrane (b. 1820) married Emeline GAMBIA (b.1824) in New York Mills, Oneida Co NY, on 14 Dec 1842. The family moved to Troy NY in 1846, and on to Milwaukee WI in 1850. Is it possible to do a lookup of the 1840 Federal Census using this ID number and page?
