Rick, There is an Otter Lake (an actual lake and also a community) in the Town of Forestport. It's along present-day Rt. 28 just north of Woodgate in the northeast corner of Oneida Co. Logging was the principal work in the area until vacation hotels and camps started springing up around the lake.
