The Roman Catholic baptism record for Elizabeth Anna O'CONNOR b. 8 Feb 1852, Utica, NY, to James Charles O'CONNOR and Ellen ____? seems my last resort to find the maiden name of her mother. Utica City Clerk's office does not have birth records for that early. Does anyone know if the courthouse in Rome would have a birth record? Would anyone know if St. Joseph's was the only catholic church in Utica at the time. Would baptism records remain with the church? Would certainly appreciate any clues or suggestions.
