Hello list; I sent for the military records of a Revolutionary War veteran, Richard SALISBURY. Among the papers was a copy of a letter dated March 8, 1938, and sent to Mrs. G. H. SWANCOTT, 11 Greenwood Court, Utica, NY. She had inquired for the records of Richard SALISBURY and James POWELL. >From my own research I know James POWELL married Clotilda SALISBURY, daughter of Richard SALISBURY and Prudence unknown. Does anyone know who Mrs. SWANCOTT was, is she living, or does she have descendants? Was this inquiry in order to join the DAR or was she doing family genealogy? Does she know the maiden name of Prudence, wife of Richard SALISBURY? Could she have been Prudence DEXTER or Prudence MONROE? Another inquiry in these papers, dated 1932, was from Mrs. Alice N. McCONIHE, 529 E. 56th St, Seattle, WA. Anyone know anything about her? My interest is in that Richard SALISBURY is in my direct line. A daughter Polly married Walter MILLER.
