Their oldest son was William, age 15, (born 1835?). He was born in NY and attended school. The 1860 census shows him no longer in that residence. There is another William Sullivan, age 25, living in Florence, married to a Nancy, with one son, John. He was a loborer and had accrued $400 in real estate and $100 in personal value. It would seem that this is the same William Sullivan, based on the age. On your info, it doesn't look the same people.
