    3. Dear Jean, I have some information for you taken from a deed dated 8 Dec 1817.Philip CADY. For $240.00, Philip deeded to Isaac WHEELER (my ggggrandfather) some land. I quote: "All that certain piece of parcel of land situate in the west half of town Number eight in Scribas patent known and distinguished in a Survey made thereof by Benjamin WRIGHT in the year 1797 as part of lot Number Twenty two described as follows that is to say thirty acres to be taken off of the west end of fifty acres which said fifty acres iss to be taken off next adjoining to fifty acres conveyed to DAVID CADY on the twenty third day of October in the year 1815 off of said lot, said thirty acres being bounded south by David CADY, East by James Barrow, North by Jane Cady, and west, by part of lot Number twenty one." >From another deed, of 8 Dec 1817: Between Jane CADY of the town of Camden & County of Oneida & State of New York....and Isaac WHEELER" A third deed with the same date with theis at the end: On the 9th day of December 1817, before me Sherman Barnes, one of the Judges of the said County personally appeared David Cady & Margery his wife known to me to be the persons described in and who executed the within Deed and the said David Cady having acknowledged the same to be his free act and deed and I having examined the said Margery the wife of the said David separate & apart from her said husband and she having acknowledged the same to be her own act and deed ....."
