I still have my brick wall and need any assistance I can get. My 3rd great grandfather was Riley Button. Riley is listed in the 1830 census living in Floyd and is listed in the 1840 census living in Marcey. He does not appear anywhere after the 1840 census that I can find. I have found three sons and a daughter living in Walworth Co., WI on the 1860 census. I have also learned that these children came to WI in 1850. Does anyone know if there was some catastrophic situation occurring in Oneida Co between 1840 and 1850 that might have resulted in these children leaving NY for WI (the oldest was 22 in 1850). Colleen
