For what it's worth, my NY atlas also shows a hamlet called "Marshall" in Allegany County, looks like part of the town of Belfast, and located about five or six miles southwest of the center of Belfast, where Gleason Road becomes Punkey Hollow Road, about four miles south of Rushford Lake.
