I want to add my thanks for that wonderful Fulton website! I have been researching my wife's Utica ancestors, Pfeifer and Boes for years with much help from Carol Michaud of Utica and I was able to find obits and wedding announcements that I didn't have before, especially appreciated is the obit of John Pfeifer, her original immigrant from Germany. It had his origin info, so maybe some old country investigation can be done. The old ads and stuff also were interesting. Wikipedia has all kinds of information and links on the Mafia. Try Cosa Nostra or Stefano Magaddino. Also, search for the 1957 Apalachin Meeting or summit in the town of Apalachin in 1957. Another name that will bring up all of the names is Joseph Barbara. Cosa Nostra may get better results than Mafia in your searches. There were many newspaper articles and books written about the Cosa Nostra in Italy, Sicily, and all over the United States. I also 'googled' Dominck Aiello funeral and found photos of him, alive and dead, on My Al Capone Museum at www.myalcaponemuseum.com I hope some of this helps. One Mafia funeral is described if you search AIELLO. This was for Dominick Aiello who along with a Pietro Lima were shot several times. The article describes the funeral as one in which "throngs" of people paid respects. Dianne ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

Evening Wendy. My collection of burials there does not include TOOMEY. The surname Toomey reminded me of something. I attended Lady of Lourdes school and had a classmate whose surame was Toomey. I recall visiting her at home, I think it was on Richardson Ave or nearby (one block from New Hartford). She was bedridden. Perhaps she had Cancer. I was only about 10-12 so I didn't know much about that, nor did we ask questions in those days. As for the St. Agnes index that I've typed up. As soon as I complete an index that I am doing for an Historical Society project, I will be typing up the St. Agnes burials that I have. I'll then see if the List Adm. would like to post them, or I will post them a little at a time. No matter what, I'll see that eventually the burials and index get on either the mailing list or as a resource here. Family history has it that the Mafia attended the largest funeral ever in Utica NY in the 1920's. Since members of my family may have participated, I wondered if anyone had any information about this? Some type of media coverage should have been done, I assume. Any information is gratefully appreciated. Susan ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
I think I have found Betsy's last name. I think it was Doty and that they were married about 1853 in Verona, New York. Can anyone tell me if they know anything about this family? Also, where would I be able to find proof of this marriage? Thanks, Dale in California
I'm trying to help a grandson who never knew Chas. his grandfather. Chas died 8 OCT 1937 in the Rome Hospital as the result of injuries sustained in an auto accident. It took this grandson years to find that Chas is buried in the Rome Cemetery. Chas lived in the 300 block of W. Bloomfield St at the time of death. His wife was named Mary. I'm wondering whether any of locals in the Rome area would see whether there is an accident report for Chas is in the Rome Sentinel in late Sept or early Oct. You can contact me privately should you be able to do this. Thanks in advance. GMF We welcome every honest immigrant... provided he leaves off his former nationality and becomes an American... I found Louisa Beebe with her parents in Augusta, NY in 1850. She was born in Madison, Madison Co., NY, I think. And then her parents were living in Forest twp., Genesee Co., Michigan in 1860. Louisa was born 1842 to Eli Putnam Beebe and his wife Hannah Mariah Pritchard. I have a note that she married John TATE and lived in Logansport, Cass Co., Indiana in 1916. Did she marry in Oneida Co. NY to John Tate? Or is my info on her marriage or move to IN wrong and she died in Augusta, NY? 1850 Census Augusta, Oneida Co., New York 196/206 Eli P.
