    1. Re: [NYONEIDA] MULLANEY ROAD IN MARCY
    2. I am not sure what time frame the road may have been named, but if Mullaney was the prominent family name on a particular road it may have been named after them. If Mullaney was the only settler on the road, the name may followed on from that. It may also have been shear coincidence. A way to check would be to find land ownership maps from the 1850-1870's and see if any Mullaney's are listed on the road. You will probably need a current map to locate the same road on the older maps to do this. Good luck with your search Rick Porter -- Nancy Mazzeo Reeb <nreeb@comcast.net> wrote: Hello I am wondering if anyone knows how the name Mullaney became a Road in Marcy, New York. 3. John All the information at my web site is free to use. The links on them are there only to help pay for gettting more things to add for others to use. I just checkd the server, there are 541 town histories for New York now. If you are also looking north of Oneida County the histories for those counties are much larger and list many more of the people in them. I also have over 1000 biographies of people from New York, the largest parts are from Genesee and Jefferson Counties. Also on the Oneida County page there is a link to the Oneida County Biographies at another free web site. Sorry about being late at getting the last towns online that I just did, I took a while off from working on it. I should have the history of Utica and Oneida County online by next week. 3. Isaac Dunwood married Mary Cleopatra Smith April 1830.(Marriages Performed by Missionaries of Baptist Church, Western Vt., Central NY) and (Marriages and Baptisms by Rev. Isaac Bucklin, Baptist Clergyman 1818-1836). I have no idea who this couple are but they may have married in Deerfield, Oneida Co. or she was of Deerfield at the time of marriage. Perhaps his surname is incorrect. Could be Dunwoodie perhaps? I find no Isaac Dunwood or variant 1830, 1840, 1850 US Census. Deanna

    3. Do you know who Peter Cooley is? Henry Smith of Deerfield, Oneida Co. sold his land to Peter Cooley in 1839. Henry and 2nd wife Eleanor Staring then moved to Chautauqua Co. I have everything and anything you want to know about Henry Smith and his lifetime but was curious about Peter Cooley as I do not have proof of Henry's parents.
