3. Hi Marilyn! I had a grt aunt named Ethel HAMMOND. She married Norris POILE HUTCHINSON and they lived in Westmoreland for many years until their deaths. She was of English descent, but I don't anything about her people. She died in the 70's I think, and would have been born somewhere around 1890. Any suggestions? Regards, David in N.W. Florida, but an Oneida native

3. Must disagree. This list has been fairly slow lately and it's a good way to get to know your fellow researchers. Most roll calls end on their own anyway after everyone has posted. Neal Carrier surnames: Anson, Ball, Carrier, Ellis, Fox, Meyers/Myers, Owen, Pugh scattered through Camden, Rome, Floyd, Holland Patent, Marcy, Trenton, Steuben, and Remsen. era: 1780's through present MFAPHOTO@aol.com wrote: > Hi List: > I'm sorry if I step on toes with this post, but I have the best > interests of everyone in mind. > What I'd suggest is that this mini roll call end as soon as possible. > It is not necessary to do this sort of thing. 1. [NYONEIDA-L] TAYLOR - UNDERHILL
2. Marilyn Lane
3. I'm researching Henry TAYLOR born circa 1798 in New York, died 18 Apr 1885 in Quincy, Branch Co., MI. In a compilation of cemetery records from the Lee Center Cemetery in Lee, Oneida Co., New York, there is a record for a Caroline Taylot (believed to be Caroline Taylor), wife of Henry, died 19 Jul 1830, age 22 years. This may be Henry Taylor's first wife. He may have been married two other times. He is known to have married Hannah UNDERHILL, born 27 Jun 1798 in Easton, Washington Co., NY and died 4 Jul 1883 in Quincy, Branch Co., MI. Their marriage may have taken place about 1833 because it was noted in Hannah's obit that she and Henry had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Henry was living in Lee, Oneida Co., NY in the 1830 census and also until at least 1834 when a child was born there. In 1850, he and his family are found in the census living in New London Township, Huron Co., OH. They moved to Coldwater, Branch Co., MI about 1851. Henry's child from his first wife was: William H. born 1826 in NY, married Eunice DAY on 8 Jan 1850 in Huron Co., OH, died 27 Aug 1875 in Quincy, Branch Co., MI. His second child was Gilbert Hiram born 26 Dec 1832 in Lee, Oneida Co., NY, married Eliza ?, died 1 Aug 1876 in Hillsdale, Hillsdale Co., MI. It is not known if this was Hannah's son or another wife's because of the birthdate. Henry and Hannah had the following children: Caroline L. born 27 Jan 1834 in Lee, Oneida Co., NY, married Timothy P. SMITH circa 1852, died 27 Aug 1932 in Coldwater, Branch Co., MI; Jay L born 18 Jan 1836 in NY, married Carolyn L. TIBBITTS on 8 Jan 1868, died 30 Dec 1904 in Elkhart, Elkhart Co., IN; John born circa 1838 in OH, married Emily WHITE on 1 Jan 1862 in Butler Twnshp, Branch Co., MI; and Emily born circa 1840, married Hiram WINTERS on 4 Jul 1857 in Butler Twnshp, Branch Co., MI. Is anybody else out there researching this family? Marilyn Lane Mountain View, CA

1. [NYONEIDA-L] End Mini roll Call
2. Hi List: I'm sorry if I step on toes with this post, but I have the best interests of everyone in mind. What I'd suggest is that this mini roll call end as soon as possible. It is not necessary to do this sort of thing. If anyone wants to find information about certain surnames they can do a search of the archives. There are instructions for that on the Rootsweb home page. The reason that I suggest this is because a roll call can easily take over and become a hindrance to finding current posts of relevance. Last winter, a roll call got out of hand on the Sussex England list and it became so bad that it had to be ended by the list owner. It had a life of it's own and didn't seem to ever end. So, please consider posting your interests to a surnames list or if you are looking for information, check the archives first. One other suggestion. Try the Oneida County site on the US Gen Web. Click below: Oneida County, New York Genealogical Research SÉ There is a space there for posting messages and interests. They stay there for a long time. Sincerely, Russ Martin

1. [NYONEIDA-L] subject line only
2. cherylewaterman
3. Roger, This is fine for your opinion, but different from mine. My subject line is taken up with NYONEIDA-L mostly with little room for anything else, especially a long surname list. I open them to find what the whole thing is and I enjoy doing it, even though I get many messages each day. This roll call thing is only a termporary burp in lots of messages, though I think it's is a great way to get us communicating more. We can always unsubscribe if it bothers us too much or gives us too many messages.
