    3. Not unless you are in Oneida County, then it could be alot cheaper. Unless you are able to make a trip to Oneida County, then yes...it'd be tons cheaper to order a will from Sampubco. But for naturalizations...best going to the court house. That will save you hundreds. One could ask someone on RAOGK for it..they do free research. 2. Nana & Papa
    3. Hello All, I will be making a trip to NY Utica/Yorkville (my very first one) next month to meet new family members of my husband's new found family. I'm interested in the immigration/naturalizations of my husband's grandparents. Does anyone have the address and phone number to the Oneida County office that would have these records? They were members of the St. Louis of Gonzga Church. Would they have any records that would be beneficial to look at and do they allow that sort of thing? Any suggestions would be appreciated Sande in CA Tanury, Salim, Nassar, Yameen, Joseph, Harp, Deep, Abdo

    1. [NYONEIDA-L] Re: SCOTT-NY-D Digest V03 #12
    2. Sandi - I see in the Oneida Digest that someone is looking  for or has information that indicates they have Scott connections and Grant Co. WI connections - My g4gps had a daughter Malissa Carley who married a Benjamin Scott in Montgomery Co, NY @ 1800.  I believe that they lived briefly in Camden and then in Constantia for the rest of their lives, (her mother Hannah Covey Carley lived with them until the 1840s until she went to IL to be with another daughter, Adeline), and one of their sons was named William and there seems to be some evidence that William inheirited a small sum of money from his grandfather Albert A. Carley when he died in 1821 in T/Camden.  There were other Carleys living in Camden at the time, including a daughter Adeline who had married Ezekiel Cady. Adeline also had a brother George who had a son Thomas.  Thomas was born in NY State in 1812 and he later migrated to Jamestown, Grant Co., WI.  Now here we have a double connection - Thomas' aunt was married to a Scott who had a son William, and Thomas lived in Grant Co., WI by 1855.  Much of Adeline and Ezekiel's family lived in Palatine, Cook, IL - a town they named for the Palatines of NY where they had grown up, when they settled in IL in 1837.  Do you think there might be a connection?  Judy Schreiber

    2. Hello Jean Patricia James is well known and respected in the Genealogy world for her Upstate NY Records that she has collected. Her works in Jefferson, Oneida etc. Counties is great. Many Genealogical Libraries in Upstate NY have her works. Try her site again as I just got into it and it might of just been down for an update on her work. Yes, she is legit. I have purchased from her previously. Regards, Pat R

    3. Hi Jean, I have purchased a book from Pat and I subscribe to the Jefferson County and Oswego County journals. I would say that the focus tends towards non-traditional and hard to find source materials. Whether the journal will meet your needs or not, I can't say. I can only tell you that NewYorkAncestry is a legitimate web site and I have been satisfied so far with my purchases.
