    1. [NYONEIDA-L] Ezra TYREL family of Whitestown
    2. Michael
    3. Hello all, Looking for information about the family of Ezra TYREL of Whitestown. I don't know much, except for the following: Ezra TYREL was b. in Hebron, Washington Co., New York July 16, 1788, son of Samuel TYREL & Eunice. He married abt. 1810, Lois HASKINS, probalby in Hebron. sometime before 1830, he moved to Whitestown, where he is shown with his family through the 1840 U.S. census. His daugther, Julia Ann TYREL, marries or has a child by <unknown> BATES; the child being born in 1835 and named Anna Marie BATES. It seems that Ezra dies around 1842, as his wife moves in with her daughter Julia Ann, who is now married and living in Mexico, Oswego Co., New York. This is all according to N.Y. State census records. If anyone would have information on this family and can share, it would be greatly appreciated! Michael Seamans

    2. Roy Crego
    3. A ship called the J. C. Austin was active in CT in 1899, perhaps it is the same as sank in 1911. On Jan. 29 1899, p.4, the NY Times published an article concerning a ship called the J. C. Austin: Canalboat Austin Safe South Norwalk, CT, Jan 28, It transpired to-day that the steam canal boat J. C. Austin, which yesterday afternoon was described by Capt. Thomas Gorman of the Daniel B. Fiske, the Austin's consort, as having sunk off Wilson's Point with the loss of five lives, did not meet with such disaster. On the contrary, the Austin with the consort Fiske, yesterday morning was moored in safety to a dock at Wilson's Point, and was this morning still at the dock with all on board. ......Etc. No mention of Sylvanus Greenwood. Hope this helps the search. 1. [NYONEIDA-L] Katherine Hanlon Lynch - Louise A. Kaut
    2. R. Mark Brown
    3. In the 1951 will of Louise A. Kaut of Utica, daughter of Nicholas Kaut (Cout) and Anna Fitzsimmons Kaut - Louise names Katherine Hanlon Lynch of 2011 Sunset Ave. Utica, NY as her Executrix with Katherine's husband James Lynch to serve if has died. She later claims that Katherine Hanlon Lynch is her second cousin. I've looked over the Lynch's in the St. John's, Newport Cemetery carefully and with hopes all the facts don't seem to match up. Can anyone shed some light on this for me and help me learn how Katherine Hanlon Lynch is related to Louise Kaut. Of note: there are 2 Nicholas Kauts, they are brothers, found in the 1865 Herkimer County census, on a later census - one is listed as Cout rather than the previous spelling. This family moved to La Junta, CO and then came back. Mother, father and 2 daughters are buried at St. Agnes Cemetery, Utica. Through the Fitzsimmons side of their family they are related to the Patrick and Mary Dillon family of Little Falls with ancestors in Richfield Springs, Ilion and Mohawk - including the O'Neil, Weldon, Smith, Ludwig, Maguire families in that area. They are related to the Knefley family of Utica and Jenne families of Chenango and Madison County. Another name in the will unknown to me is Katherine J. Rath, first cousin of 101 Addington Pl. Utica - though I'm suspecting that she may be related to Louise Kaut through the Kaut side rather than the Fitzsimmons side of the family. Thanks, Mark [email protected]
