I'm wondering whether anyone has a copy of the obit for Elizabeth (Betty) Schanbarger who it has been reported died about two weeks ago in the Rome, NY assisted living facility associated with the Rome hospital. She was about 95. I realize that this a long shot. Should you have any info you may contact me privately if you wish. Thanks. G. M. I have learned that John Brydon and his wife Jane Crosby and their two known sons, William Alfred Brydon and Edward Richard Brydon were NOT Catholic. They were Protestant. Edward Richard Brydon's daughter Rhoda F. J. Brydon was converted to Catholicism when she married to an Irish Catholic Charles Murphy. The John Brydon family apparently migrated to Louisiana and ended up settling in Garrett Co., Maryland around 1855-60. In about 1866, Edward and wife moved to Baltimore, Maryland. Hello All! I am Searching for anything I can on Betsy, my 4th great grandmother who married Horace M. SCOTT a physician born about 1798, NY he was a descendent of Amos SCOTT who came to Madison Co., NY early 1800's. Betsy and Horace SCOTT's daughter Almira V. SCOTT was my 3rd great grandmother. Almira's obit states that she was born June, 1840 at Bridgewater, Oneida Co., NY and that her mother (Betsy) died when she was just 4 years of age and a few years later came to Whitewater, Walworth Co., WI with her father and brothers. Her brothers were: Edmund E. SCOTT b. 1821, NY John H. SCOTT b. 1837, NY Thanks for any clues anyone can provide, I know my info on Betsy is sorta vague. Regards, Sandy

I can check the censuses for you if you'd like to narrow down where they were living. I'll need as much information on his parents, where born? when born? At first look there are many greenwoods in upstate NY, need something, if possible to narrow it down. Found a few Joseph's but no Luther in a quick search of the censuses 1860-1920. Would need birthplace, birthdates to narrow it down, what town., etc. I only have one Welsh Ellis on a branch of my tree, out of PA. If you'd like me to search the censuses, just give me as much info as you can. Mark In 1920, Joseph is married here with wife Elizabeth (age 54) and owns a home at 1111 Mathews Ave. He's listed as a herdmans at the State Hospital. I don't find them in 1930. Sorry Mark, That last mail was for the census of 1910. Dianne
Hi Mark, Can't help you with an obit, but Julia and Joseph are listed here as both being employees at Utica State hospital. Julia is an attendant and Joseph is a herdsman. McDonald, Julia Age: 50 Gender: F Race: W Birthplace: NY State: New York County: ONEIDA Locale: 14-WD UTICA Series: T624 Roll: 1053 Part: 2 Page: 38A
I was wondering if anyone could help me finding an obit - or date of death for any of my McDonalds ? Julia McDonald born about seems to have been born about 1858 and I find her working at Utica State Hospital. I think I find her still there in 1900. Joseph McDonald born about 1862 was living with him mother Joannah in 1880 in Marcy. I think he may also be living and working at Utica State Hospital in 1900 though his date of birth does line up exactly. Michael McDonald born about 1860 was living in Marcy down the road from his brother and mom in 1880. Final sister, Catharine - a school teacher (Kitty McDonald) died in Feb 1887, Holland Patent. I have an obit for her thanks to the Rootsweb Oneida site from RCFeb11, 1887. Thanks, Mark Brown [email protected]
