============================ Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York __________________ 26th Masonic District EDWIN HUGHES, District Deputy Grand Master. __________________ Trenton, N. Y. Nov. 10th, 1900 Notice is hereby given that a Convention of the Lodges composing the Twenty-sixth Masonic District, will be held in Masonic Temple, Utica, N, Y., Thursday and Friday, December 13th and 14th, 1900, at which time R. W. William H. Whiting, Grand lecturer, will be present and give instruction in the standard Work and Lectures, as adopted by the Grand Lodge of the State of New York. The program will be as follows: Thursday, December 13th, at 8 P. M. First Degree. Friday, December 14th, 2 P. M. Second Degree. Friday, December 14th, 8 P. M. Third Degree. No event of the Masonic year is of more general importance to the craft than the District Convention, and it is strongly urged that each Lodge in the District be represented by as many of it officers and members as can be arranged to attend. The work of a Lodge is always improved by having its officers attend the sessions of the District Convention where each can pay special attention to the work which he is engaged. In this way they derive greater benefit, and are better able to retain the Grand Lecturer's instructions than when a single representative is depended upon to cover the entire subject. The record of this District in point of interest and attendance at conventions is a creditable one, and is reflected by the proficiency of the several Lodges in the Standard Work. It is hoped that a still more generous effort will be made during the coming Convention, to arrive at a more perfect knowledge of the beautiful and simple ritual adopted by the Grand Lodge, as exemplified by our efficient Grand Lecturer. A cordial and fraternal invitation is extended to all Master Masons in good standing to be present at this Convention. Lodges at a distance should, if possible, provide for the expenses of at least one representative. Please acknowledge receipt of this communication and advise me at the earliest date possible, of the arrangements by which your Lodge will be represented. Thanking you for past favors and trusting to be able to greet you December 13th and 14th. I am Fraternally yours, EDWIN HUGHES D. D. G. M. ==================================Thanks to John S. Looking for an obituary for Franklin Stanford, died April 2, 1877; buried in Stanford Cemetery, Annsville NY Cathy Oregon
Dear List Members: My name is Julian H. Preisler and I reside in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia near Washington, DC. I am searching for a person who can take a color photograph of the exterior of Temple Emanu-El located at 2710 Genesee Street and Temple Beth El located 1607 Genesee Street, both in Utica. I am researching American Synagogue Architecture and am in the process of creating an e-Book on the subject. Photo credit will be given to the photographer both in the research project and upon publication. If anyone can do this for me or knows of someone who is willing to assist, please do get in touch with me. Photographs can be digital (preferred), but I can also accept regular print photographs and can scan them into the database. I have photographs of only a few of the Jewish temples and synagogues in New York State and would also like to include the ones in Utica. I thank you in advance for your help and look forward to hearing from any of you. Sincerely, Mr. Julian H. Deanna, would you please check for Lindsay? Variant spellings are Lindsey, Linsy, Linzy, etc. I am most hoping to find a George born in Ireland, probably died before 1850 in NY. Thank you. _________________________________________________________________ It’s tax season, make sure to follow these few simple tips http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Taxes/PreparationTips/PreparationTips.aspx?icid=WLMartagline

I made an error in writing in the # of pages of the index I did. There are 35 pp of index. I'll work on the burial index as soon as I can and then turn it over to the List Administrator if she will accept it for posting. In the meantime continue to ask me to check the burials. Remember that I have only a portion of Irish burials for St. Agnes Cem., Utica. I found these burial records many years ago at Utica Public Library. Deanna
I'll send the index to the List Administrator if she will accept it and then she can decide. Guess that's best. Deanna PS I'll check for Dwyer right now. My cousin Karen Dwyer once told me that all of the Dwyers in Utica are not related. I think she just sent you an email ----- Original Message ----- From: <AnnieL2436@aol.com> To: <nyoneida@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, April 05, 2007 5:33 PM Subject: Re: [NYONEIDA] St Agnes Cemetery > > Thanks for your generous offer Deana!!! > > I'm interested in Dwyer > -- any and all. Linda: I am researching Patrick Dwyer who came from Ireland. He was born March 17, 1846. He settled in Franklin Springs and later in Utica on Buffalo Street. He is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Clinton,NY. Any connection? Karen Dwyer AnnieL2436@aol.com wrote: Thanks for your generous offer Deana!!! I'm interested in Dwyer -- any and all. No, there are no Roots listed. What Root family are you searching? I'm a Root descendant also. I haven't searched that family in years but I'll "dig" out the file if names are familiar to me. Hi John. Your offer is very kind, but I do intend to re-type the 22 pages. There is a copy at Utica Public Library but no index. I indexed the entries. Keep in touch. We'll talk about this again. Deanna, If you have to capability of scanning the pages and sending them email I would volunteer to retype them and send them back to you. You could send them to me direct mailto:jwilkins@twcny.rr.com This would be very important to have on the http://www.rootsweb.com/~nyoneida/ Since there are no records for St Agnes there.
