Dear Folks, Early this afternoon I made certain that I called the library to renew all the books I had borrowed inasmuch as I knew for certain that several of them were overdue. After I told the librarian that I had just gotten out of the hospital, she went ahead and renewed all of them. However, this afternoon when I sat down to read my last murder mystery, I knew that I'd finish reading it by the end of the day. I was in a panic mode in that I'm not allowed to drive for the next three weeks. I'd have to ask someone to drive me to the library to pick some more books. But who could I ask? Well, wouldn't you know that someone showed up on my doorstep this afternoon. It was John, my neighbor Ken's father delivering my mail and newspaper. He had heard of my stay in the hospital and he invited himself in to sit and chat with me a bit. Even though my brain was still a bit fuzzy, I realized that maybe he had a few extra minutes to drive me to the library and wait for me to pick up some more books. No problem. John went way out of his way to make certain that I had my walker with me, he loaded it into his car along with the library books I needed to return and he followed me carefully up to the library and waited for me to pick out some more. What made it even sweeter was when I showed up at the library and the librarian waived all overdue fines due to my being hospitalized. John drove me and my new books back to my house and he helped me inside with them. He couldn't have been nicer. So once again someone came to my rescue without my even needing to get on the telephone. I don't know how I could deserve such caring people in my world. vee
