Jo was born in Tucson, Arizona on July 7, 1960 to Linda (Van Order) and the Late Robert P. Congelli. Jo and her family moved back to Lockport, New York in the late 1960's where she grew up and graduated from Lockport Senior High School class of 1978. After high school she worked for several different companies building her career in helping others. In 1993 Jo met Mr. Dave Yasses, and two years later he finally talked her into marrying him on June 23, 1995. They celebrated over 15 years together before her passing. In 1999 Jo and Dave moved to the Columbus, Ohio area and later she became employed with Worthington Christian Village as the Officer Manager, celebrating 10 years of service last June. Fun loving, and a founding member of the "Over 50 Cowbell Band," Jo could be found singing and dancing to her favorite Jon BonJovi or Bonnie Raitt song pretending to be a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader while vacuuming and cleaning the house. Laughing was her forte, Dave always tried to make her laugh at least once every day, "it was pretty easy" he said, especially when she had a Grand Marnier. Jo will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Jo's survivors include her husband, David of Lewis Center, Ohio; children, Sara (Eric) Kager of NY, Jason Minderler of NY, Lindsey Minderler of Lewis Center, Ohio and Zachary Yasses of Lewis Center; grandmother of Kendyl "Bean"; mother, Linda Congelli of NY; sister of John (Angela) Congelli of NC, MaryKay (Daniel) Kirsch of NY and Edward (Debra) Congelli of NY. Jo was the beloved aunt and mentor to several nieces and nephews. JoAnn was a Breast Cancer Survivor who spent years volunteering in various fundraising efforts. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 4-8 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington, Ohio. Interment will be on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in Lockport New York. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to JoAnn Yasses Benefit Fund, Worthington Christian Village, 165 Highbluffs Blvd, Columbus, OH 43235 in her name.
